Description
Madurai is an energetic, ancient city on the Vaigai River in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Its skyline is dominated by the 14 colorful gopurams (gateway towers) of Meenakshi Amman Temple. Covered in bright carvings of Hindu gods, the Dravidian-style temple is a major pilgrimage site. Millions attend the processions and ceremonies of April's Chithirai Festival celebrating Meenakshi and Lord Vishnu
Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountain range in India’s Kerala state. A hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, it's surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the late 19th century. Eravikulam National Park, a habitat for the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri tahr, is home to the Lakkam Waterfalls, hiking trails and 2,695m-tall Anamudi Peak.
After arriving into Madurai, visit the famous Meenakshi temple for the evening programme. The following morning a day trip to Rameshwaram showcases the holiness as it is believed to be the Kashi of the south. The next two days would be in Munnar for its majestic mountains and plantations, and finally head back to Madurai to fly back or take a train to the next destination.

Itinerary
Meet on arrival at Madurai Airport/ Railway station and transfer to hotel. Relax and evening visit Meenakshi temple to attend the night ceremony at the temple at 9 P.M. This is a ceremony that takes place every evening when the temple bronze of Lord Shiva is carried to the bedchamber of Parvati. The procession is accompanied by religious prayer and temple music. Overnight.
Day trip to Rameswaram and back to Madurai. Overnight.
Morning breakfast checkout and drive to Munnar - one of the most popular hill stations in India is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams. On arrival check into hotel. Later proceed for half day sightseeing, visit to Lock Heart Gap - This is an ideal place for adventure tourism and trekking. Echo Point - This scenic place gets its name from the natural echo phenomenon here. Echo Point is on the way to Top Station. Nyayamakad - is a land of breathtaking waterfalls. Return to resort/hotel, dinner and overnight.
Morning breakfast and proceed to full day sightseeing, visit to Anayirankal - It's a lush green carpet of tea plants. Pothamedu - offers an excellent view of the tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in Munnar. Tea Museum - Munnar is perhaps the choicest of places to preserve and showcase some of the exquisite and interesting aspects on the genesis and growth of tea plantations in Kerala's high ranges. Return to hotel. Overnight.
